STEVE CHAUVETTE
SOUND ARTIST
Steve Chauvette is a sound artist based in Southwest Florida. His music includes pieces for string quartet, pierrot plus guitar ensemble, marimba solo, and cell phone ensemble. His works have been premiered by acclaimed chamber groups including the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, Ensemble Variance, the Kenari Quartet, and 9 Horses. As an orchestrator, Steve regularly collaborates with composer Trevor Lanford including the creation of the one act musical Winter Dreams. Steve's interests in music include spatial sound design and interactivity. He has composed electroacoustic works for live instruments and electronics patched in Max by Cycling74. In the summer of 2020 Steve attended the Max Computer Music Workshop at Charlotte New Music Festival. Steve studied composition with Dr. Clint Needham and Dr. Jonathan Sokol while attending Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, OH. In his spare time he enjoys cooking, watching movies, and gaming.
